Core Technology Statement
Modern system control advancements exist and are used extensively in non-healthcare industries such as financial services, broadcasting and gaming. However the use of such technologies has not penetrated the healthcare market, due in part to its high degree of regulation. Current use models require multiple system control interfaces, and often, additional staff to operate such control interfaces. The proliferation of medical imaging modalities traditionally requires additional control interfaces; further crowding patient care and control-room environments with multiple keyboard and mouse arrangements. Because procedures are performed in a range of sterile settings, clinicians are limited in their ability to personally use these system interface devices, requiring additional staff-members for clinical support.
