Carrot Medical Acheives ISO Certifications
Company to Demonstrate Technology at Radiological Society of North America Annual Meeting
BOSTON – Dec. 2, 2009 – Carrot Medical, a leader in visual and audio integration products for the next-generation cardiology suite, announced today that it has received ISO 13485 certification. The certification covers the company’s C-View and C-Com product lines, which both improve workflow and optimize clinical performance in the operating room.
The ISO Certification confirms that Carrot Medical has successfully implemented a quality management system that adheres to the worldwide standard for design and manufacture of medical devices. In addition, achieving certification validates Carrot Medical’s commitment to meeting and exceeding customer, regulatory and quality standards with regards to its product suite. The company’s audit
was conducted by BSI, a leading global independent certifier of management systems.
“Receiving ISO Certification is a tremendous milestone for our organization. ISO certification serves as evidence of the high level of business competency Carrot Medical demonstrates, from the quality of our products to our operational discipline,” said Ward Sparacio, CEO of Carrot Medical. “Furthermore, due to the international recognition of ISO 13485, Carrot is now in a position to expand our channel opportunities and grow our business globally.”
ISO 13485 is an International Organization for Standardization (IS0) classification that focuses on the unique and rigorous requirements for companies involved in the development of medical devices. Manufacturers must demonstrate that quality management systems are implemented and maintained to receive the certification, which addresses such quality issues as risk management, sterilization and traceability.
Carrot Medical’s technology integrates with the video and audio technologies of existing OEM’s in the surgical suite. Carrot’s C-View monitoring solution consolidates up to 24 third-party video input sources into a single lossless video feed displayed in real time on a single 56-inch LCD display. Carrot’s C-Com audio system provides an efficient and subtle method for whisper-quiet communication between control and procedure rooms. A third product, Carrot’s C-Stream, synchronizes video and audio into a recording and Internet broadcasting solution, allowing for both improved collaboration among remote clinical team members and for innovative educational opportunities.
Carrot Medical is showcasing its C-View, C-Com and C-Stream technology at the Radiological Society of North America (RSNA) Annual Meeting November 29 through December 4. These technologies will be on display in conjunction with GE Healthcare and Mavig GmbH. RSNA comes on the heels of highly visible appearances at the Medica World Forum in Germany (with Mavig GmbH) and
at the Medicine International Trade Fair in Washington, D.C. for the United
States Congress. |
